    September 21, 2004

Yosemite Technologies today announced its plans to support Microsoft Data Protection Server (DPS), a continuous, low-cost disk-based backup and recovery solution.

Yosemite’s backup software will provide offload backup support for Data Protection Server, offering additional flexibility and value for SME customers.

Microsoft Data Protection Server, part of the Windows Server System, announced today at the Storage Decisions 2004 trade conference in Chicago, will provide continuous backup protection and rapid recovery that takes advantage of a company’s existing Windows infrastructure. Yosemite’s commitment to Data Protection Server continues the company’s support for a full range of Microsoft products including Microsoft Windows Storage Server 2003, SQL Server, Exchange, and all commercial versions of the Windows operating system.

“As Microsoft Windows Server 2003 continues to be the platform of choice for business critical, 24/7 applications, the need to protect and rapidly recover data in these environments grows too,” stated Kevin Reinis, CEO of Yosemite Technologies, “With Yosemite’s focus on the Small-to-Medium Enterprise, Microsoft Data Protection Server is a strategic cornerstone for us to deliver scalable, yet simplified data protection solutions for Windows SME customers.”

“The exponential growth of data and increasing costs are driving customers to rethink their backup and recovery planning,,” said Jim Hebert, general manager, Windows Server Division. “Microsoft is pleased to be working with Yosemite to provide customers of all sizes with the broadest choice of complete low-cost, continuous disk-based based backup and recovery solutions.”

Yosemite is exhibiting its backup solution in the Microsoft Partner Pavilion at Storage Decisions 2004, September 20-22 in Chicago.
