"Yahoo! Mobile will enable users to create their own Internet starting point on their mobile device so they can better discover, connect to and stay informed about the people and things that are important to them," said Marco Boerries, executive vice president, Yahoo! Inc.

Key features of Yahoo Mobile include Yahoo oneSearch, Yahoo oneConnect, Yahoo News and Yahoo onePlace, which allow users to manage their content from one location.

The smartphone version of Yahoo Mobile includes the above features along with Yahoo oneSearch with Voice, which allows users to do searches by speaking, Maps, an integrated version of the Opera Mini 4.2 mobile Web browser and enhanced widgets.

The Yahoo Mobile version for smartphones is scheduled for late May. Yahoo Mobile will be available in the U.S., Canada, U.K., France, Germany, India, Indonesia and the Philippines. Versions for other countries will be introduced over the remainder of 2009
