Woman Plans to Give Overweight Kids Letters Instead of Candy for Halloween

It looks like Halloween has its very own Grinch. A woman in Fargo, North Dakota plans to give children she considers overweight letters telling them they don’t need sweets instead of candy when they knock on her door on Halloween.

“I just want to send a message to the parents of kids that are really overweight…I think it’s just really irresponsible of parents to send them out looking for free candy just ’cause all the other kids are doing it,” the woman, who wouldn’t give her name, said in an interview on Y94 radio station. Maybe she wanted to avoid being targeted on Mischief Night tonight?

If the North Dakota woman follows through on her plans to hand out letters to overweight kids, she better be prepared to pull an all-nighter watching her house because when most kids say, “Trick or treat!” they’re serious about that. Kids–especially the older trick-or-treaters–will TP a person’s house for a whole lot less than refusing to give them candy because they’re overweight.

It seems like it would be easier for the woman to simply say she’s out of candy after making the determination that a kid weighs too much to get candy, rather than go through all the trouble with the letters and shame a kid in front of his friends. Check out the woman’s Halloween letter below:

You child is, in my opinion, moderately obese and should not be consuming sugar and treats to the extent of some children this Halloween season. My hope is that you will step up as a parent and ration candy this Halloween and not allow your child to continue these unhealthy eating habits.

Quite a few Twitter users are outraged at this North Dakota woman who seems dead set on ruining Halloween for some kids just because they weigh too much (in her opinion). What do you think about the woman giving letters to overweight kids on Halloween? Respond below.

Someone should give her a letter talking about the dangers of not controlling a serious mental illness because she has one.
This is awful and this woman should remain anonymous because you know what they say when you point your finger at someone else — 10 people will point their finger at you. I am sure we could rip this woman to death for her flaws.

There are some crazy and just plain mean women in this country. I hope she doesn’t have kids of her own.

Hey, I am not fat — I am just big boned! Seriously — and women wonder why men think they are bitches. This woman is the poster child for a being a bitch.

I mean who sits around and actually thinks about writing letters that are just going to hurt a child’s feelings? How screwed up do you have to be to do this?

Some hand out candy dressed as a witch, this lady’s handing out notes signed, “your friendly neighborhood bitch.”

Some people have entirely too much time on their hands. It’s gotta be nice to be so perfect that you can sit in judgment of the rest of the world!

So as long as the kid is thin, she sees no problem with them eating as much candy as they can? And she still has the gall to claim that this is about health?
    What a pissant

If she’s so worried about kids “health” & her it takes a village philosophy, maybe the village idiot could give the kids something that is not candy. Pencils, erasers, toys, even sugar=free gum are just a few suggestions

I guess this woman can give out whatever she pleases to the children on halloween. But, if she proceeds with her stated intent, I believe she had better be prepared to do a lot of outside cleaning to her house and property on the following morning. LMAO at people of this mindset.

Who made her the keeper of everyone’s child!?!? Some children can nor help their weight due to certain illness!! Who is she to judge & make a child feel worse then what they already due because of their weight! These children get enough ridicule from other peers their own age (basically bullying)! She is nothing but a BULLY herself! SHAME ON HER!! Besides that If she handed my child that paper I would cram it down her throat!!

She’s doing these kids a favor. People are more concerned with these kids’ feelings, than they are about these kids having a decent quality of life. You know why there weren’t as many fat kids 30 years ago? Because there was a stigma attached, and kids didn’t want to be the kid that was constantly the butt of jokes.

We’re slowly killing millions of people, due to this “I don’t want to hurt someone’s feelings” nonsense. If one of these kids is mad enough to where he goes out and starts making some positive changes to his life, she’s done good.

Frankly, she should just give everyone toothpaste, or something that could be useful or healthy(She could give packaged organic fruit products or something), instead of handing some kids a letter, but it’s not my call to make.

I don’t think it is any of her business. She is just being cruel. If she really wanted to help, and since she obviously has way too much time on her hands, she should volunteer her services and start an afternoon program that promotes exercise. She may think she is doing a good thing but she is actually just sitting there being judgmental and unproductive. All she is doing is ticking everyone off. Half the problem with this country is people think they can pass judgement on other people, while they think they are perfect. I wonder what it would be like to be so wonderful that I would have nothing better to do than make other people feel like shit.
