Willie Nelson is a man who means what he says and when he says Justin Bieber needs to grow up, that’s exactly what he means. Although the rest of the world is still captivated by the young singer’s recent arrest for DUI and street racing, Nelson just doesn’t have time to worry about him.

“He’ll be all right,” said Nelson in an interview. “Let him grow up and then we’ll talk about him.”

Nelson has had his share of run-ins with the law, most of them for marijuana possession. His legal troubles haven’t seemed to stop him from having a successful music career. In fact, they may have helped make it better. Many of Nelson’s most famous songs include lyrics about his bad habits and many of his fans admire his “do what I want” attitude.

Many of Bieber’s fans and colleagues are worried that his recent troubles could be a cry for help and are concerned that the young star may be headed down the wrong path. Nelson doesn’t seem to agree. He thinks that Bieber is just being rebellious and needs to be held accountable for his actions.

That doesn’t mean that Nelson thinks Bieber should be criticized harshly, he is after all, still young. Everyone makes mistakes, even Willie Nelson , and perhaps he, more than anyone, understands what Bieber is going through.

He could also just be bored with him and trying to avoid having to talk about him. Either way, it seems like Willie Nelson is neither impressed or surprised at Bieber’s arrest and has little to say about it.

Willie Nelson screaming to the world… Look at me! You are no longer relevant, and your music is outdated. No one cares about your views on Bieber. Just go away to the retirement home old man.

I think Willie is exactly right. Bieber does need to grow up, and it's better he grows up outside of the attention of the media because it's tough to grow up being the center of attention in the media. Both are talented musicians and each has their flaws. [though I have to admit, there's a sad bit of sadistic enjoyment out of watching Bieber doing stupid stuff.] Most of the bad stuff both Bieber and Nelson has done just goes to show they are ordinary people with flaws just like everyone else. The media tends to magnify those flaws, mostly by making the celebrities think they are above ordinary and somehow immune to judgement.
