Search Engine Journal wants nominations from the Internet community for the site they think represents the best search engine blog out there today.

Loren Baker has humbly excluded Search Engine Journal from the balloting for the Best of Search Engine Blogs Awards, which will be announced on December 17th. The post Baker made today said they will take nominations through December 9th.

It’s not intended as the next Academy Awards, but a vehicle for increasing the visibility of search engine blogs:

The competition is not meant to be a definition of winners or losers in the Searchosphere’, but more of a showcase of search engine blogs and extra exposure for reader favorites. We’ve received very positive feedback from our SEJ Blogroll and feel that as a member of the search blog community, we can use a bit of competitive flavoring to help shine the spotlight on our peers.

Once the nominations are in, voting runs through the 15th. Categories include favorite SEO blogs, SEM blogs, Search Engine Run Blogs (Google Blog, Yahoo Search Blog), Search Engine Employee Blog, Search Engine Community Blogs and Search Engine News Blogs.
