WebTrends Delivers Faster SEO With WebPosition Enhancements

    March 16, 2005

WebTrends, the web analytics market share leader and a business unit of NetIQ Corporation, today announced the latest upgrade to the industry’s leading Search Engine Optimization solution, WebPosition Gold 3.

Free to customers of the current version WebPosition 3.5 simplifies the creation and execution of the SEO process through a new wizard-based interface for reporting on keyword rankings, while offering more sophisticated and flexible reporting capabilities with its new Excel-based tool, WebPosition SmartReports.

“These enhancements afford both beginner and advanced users the ability to dramatically accelerate their time to results,” said Jason Palmer, vice president of products, WebTrends. “By making it easier to execute, analyze and manage SEO efforts as part of a continuous process, WebPosition 3.5 will help more and more companies realize the full potential of their ability to secure higher natural search positions.”

The new Quick Start Reporter wizard streamlines the process of setting up and viewing search engine ranking reports, enabling users to understand how visible their sites are on the major search engines as well as what they can do to raise that visibility.

“With WebPosition, MotorcycleSuperstore.com has gone from being nearly invisible to the #1 position for several of our most important keywords. Better yet, by leveraging WebTrends, we’ve been able to show that 80% of our revenue is generated by these natural search listings,” said Don Becklin, president, Motorcycle USA. “We’re particularly excited about WebPosition 3.5, as it will provide trending and the ability to link PPC cost data with search positions so that we can better prioritize natural or paid search where it makes the most sense, which of course adds to both top-line growth and bottom-line savings.”

For Professional edition users, WebPosition SmartReports allows users to create a centralized repository of all their SEO information in order to trend keyword rank over time or to merge it with bid cost or web analytics information to more easily determine the factors that impact ROI.

Superior to a traditional Excel export, WebPosition SmartReports creates a relational database file (.mdb) formatted and designed for Excel, and includes an integrated toolbar that automatically updates reports and provides a wizard for data augmentation.

WebPosition 3.5 is available today at www.webposition.com. A free 30-day trial version of the product is available. WebPosition 3 customers will be automatically notified of the availability of version 3.5 release through an in-product notification.
