Wal-Mart Posts February Sales Increase

Wal-Mart Stores posted a 4.1% increase in February sales at U.S. stores open over a year.

This beat the company’s own forecast as well as estimates from analysts. Wal-Mart expects similar results in March.

According to a Reuters article,

“Wal-Mart had forecast a 2 to 4 percent increase in February same-store sales. Analysts on average forecast 3.8 percent, according to Reuters Estimates.

Traffic and the average check were both up, the company said.”
