Online video viewers in the US racked up an average of three hours of watching that rich media during the month of July.

Video viewership has continued to gain online, along with the amount of time people dedicate to watching. ComScore said Google sites, which include YouTube, rated as the top US video property.

Those Google sites picked up 27 percent of the video views, totaling almost 2.5 billion videos. Of that number, YouTube racked up 2.4 billion video viewings.

After Google, video viewing shares drop into the single digits. Yahoo sites picked up 390 million views, for 4.3 percent. Fox Interactive Media, including MySpace, delivered 298 million, or 3.3 percent.

Google’s courtroom foe, Viacom, followed the top three with 281 million videos, while Disney and Time Warner/AOL jostled behind Viacom with 182 million and 181 million videos viewed, respectively.

“In total, nearly 134 million Americans viewed online video in July, or approximately three in four U.S. Internet users,” comScore said.

“Google Sites also captured the largest online video audience with 67.8 million unique viewers, followed by Fox Interactive Media with 35.8 million and Yahoo! Sites with 35.3 million.”
