  1. This is a relief to know that I didn’t just lose a bunch of followers! i thought i had done something wrong and couldn’t figure out what was going on!

    good to know :)

twitter me the idea girl :)

  2. my tweet friend also have this problem. now i know why he got this problem.

  3. Good job, Twitter! I don’t follow anyone who doesn’t have something to say that’s worth reading. Anyone who follows me who has thousands of followers is immediately suspect.

  4. Good work, Twitter!

I noticed a drop a few days ago and just thought I’d upset someone! I had recently started to unfollow people who were spamming anyway. Anyone who posted stuff like ‘want to know how to get 10,000 followers instantly? http://tinyurl.com/nonsense‘.

It’s always good to get rid of the spammers!

  5. I am glad that twitter at least went through this essential step; my followers drop was almost half than yours, about 20 or something but this is worth. I myself do some check from time to time to remove spammers

Though this post was written almost two months ago, it’s only during roughly the past two weeks that I’ve noticed a drastic decrease in followers. Don’t know why it didn’t happen earlier in the summer, but apparently they’ve now caught up with me! And just a little while ago, I found that 60 or so accounts had vanished overnight; I don’t recall ever experiencing such a large falling off in such a short time. Perhaps it’s for the best, if most of these accounts were simply spam, but it’s still somewhat dismaying when the rate of follows is only slightly ahead of the unfollows, which leaves you feeling as if you’re not making much headway.
