You think your grandmother is the coolest old lady on the planet? Think again, pal. Apparently you haven't met @J_DIMPS (aka Josephine Lamberti), the 80 year-old Staten Island resident who is on a mission to accrue 80,000 followers on Twitter. As of this writing, Lamberti has over 65,000 fans, and that number seems to be steadily increasing day by day.
The question remains: Why haven't you followed her yet?
"I’m really cool, stylish,” she explains. “Funny. That’s about it. I really don’t act my age."
Lamberti, whose her Twitter account bears the name Josie Dimples, began her ambitious quest nearly two years ago with the help of her grandson, an interesting fellow by the name of Donny D-fine. Since then, she has been followed and retweeted by actors, celebrities, quasi-celebrities, and nobodies alike, all of which are aiding the woman in her journey towards internet stardom.
MyAdoptedGrandchildren boasts 300 celebrities she's interacted with online, which contains such notable individuals as Jose Canseco, Larry the Cable Guy, Stacey Dash, and Kirstie Alley, just to name a few. Just recently, Dimps and her grandson were invited to a basketball game by NBA star Nate Robinson. However, she doesn't limit her interactions with just the rich and famous. Lamberti has a soft spot for the little guys, too.
What's the secret to getting Dimps to follow you back?
"If they make me laugh, I'll follow them back," she explains.
