It’s sort of a digital/real world combo imitation of Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist; instead of trying to find a band, people in L.A. are trying to find a Korean taco truck, latest locations tweeted, of course.

Yeah, Korean tacos. Two bucks, and apparently worth reconnecting with your breathless inner child—the one who chased ice cream trucks for blocks cuz the jerk wouldn’t ever just stop outside your house, probably because he liked to hear kids try to catch their breath and order at the same time—same reason your dentist always asks you questions with his hand in your mouth.

The taco truck chef, Roy Choi, has people standing in line for an hour and half for his weird creations, and he says he owes his success to social media and viral marketing. He’s got 8,000 followers on Twitter, all waiting to find out one of two trucks’ current location.

And, like in some kind of alternate digital universe, geek chic in this instance is actually pulling people out of their houses and causing neighbors to talk to each other again.

It’s not all roses. There are always posers trying to throw off the crowd with fake addresses. Wonder how long till back alley muggers lure Korean taco-crazy cash-in-hand fanatics into a night they’d rather forget.

These tacos must be the best in the west. I liked how you said the ice cream truck driver liked to hear the kids catch their breaths.

This is so smart on their behalf. Now that you have a craving niche audience, making them keep track of you is the viral #1 goal.

That’s pretty neat, I wonder if anyone will try that hear on the East Coast?
