Trent Reznor, of NIN fame, recently said on his official site that he is nearing the completion of the score for “The Social Network”. If you are unfamiliar with the film, it’s the story about the founding of Facebook starring Jesse Eisenberg, Andrew Garfield, and Justin Timberlake… among others.

Are you going to watch "The Social Network" when it comes out? Let us know.

On his site, Reznor talks about how David Fincher, the director of the film, asked him to do the score, his initial reluctance, and his satisfaction with the semi-finished product

“David Fincher started inquiring about my interest in scoring his upcoming film, The Social Network. Yeah, the movie about the founding of Facebook. I’ve always loved David’s work but quite honestly I wondered what would draw him to tell that story. When I actually read the script and realized what he was up to, I said goodbye to that free time I had planned.

Months later, I’m happy to tell you we’re nearing the completion of this and I couldn’t be happier with how it’s turned out. The level of excellence that David operates on is inspiring and the entire process has been challenging and truly enjoyable."

So what does Reznor think about the film?it’s really fucking good. And dark!

From the description, its hard to imagine Trent Reznor being involved in a project like this. Facebook? Im against these social network sites and have my reasons for being so.

But overall, if someone was needed to make a movie great, what better than using Trent Reznor to erect greatness from what seemingly appears lame..

Or maybe Trent is just lame now.

Let us not forget who wrote the film: Aaron Sorkin!
With his script and Fincher directing, this film is going to be excellent.

I’d like a documentary but not some dramatic BS with made up events and statements. Is this the case here…

How exactly is Justin Timberlake a “mega-jerk”? Not to sound trite, but your comment reeks of jealousy. His performance in “Dick In A Box” alone makes him a pretty cool guy by most people’s standards.

I wasn’t planning to see this movie but after hearing Reznor’s insights, I am a little intrigued. Will have to wait for reviews.
