Google Sites Goes Hebrew and Arabic

Now Up to Forty Languages

Google has introduced Google Sites in Hebrew and Arabic. This makes 40 languages that Google Sites now supports.

To change the language in Google Sites, simply go to More Actions > Manage Site > General. Site Collaborators can change the language of the interface by going to the user settings page from the My Sites list. If no language is set, Google uses the browser language setting.

Last week Google launched some new features for Google Sites. These include, the ability for users to copy entire sites, as well as an update to the "recent announcement" gadget, which gives users more control over how much text is shown in the post summary, and more control over the search box.

Last week Google also launched four new Arabic versions of Google News. These include versions for Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, and the United Arab Emirates. Yahoo also recently announced plans to expand Arabic offerings. The company announced its intent to acquire the Arab portal Maktoob.com.

Improvement

Definitely an improvement from where Google Sites stood a year ago. Hopefully, it will be even better one year from now.
