AT&T Launches Entertainment Site

Offering professional content

AT&T is getting into the online content business with the launch of its new website AT&T Entertainment.

AT&T Entertainment is focused on professional content offering TV shows and movies much like Hulu. Content providers include ABC, NBC Universal (via an agreement with Hulu), CBS, CW, Syfy and Bravo.

Users can find content by browsing TV shows and movies alphabetically, by genre, or by network or studio. The site is open to any user, whether you are an AT&T customer or not.

"We know our customers want to be able to access their favorite content anytime, anywhere," said Dan York, executive vice president of content and programming, AT&T.

AT&T Entertainment

"AT&T Entertainment provides the one-stop destination to watch your favorite TV shows and movies on your PC, wherever you have a broadband connection. The site will grow and evolve to make more content available to consumers in new and better ways."

AT&T says the new entertainment site is part of its strategy to make popular content available to users across the three screens. It says it plans to add more TV programs and movies from other providers in the coming months.

With a number of similar sites already offering TV and movies online, AT&T Entertainment may have a challenging time gaining traction in the crowded field.
