Microsoft Launches Bing Developer Kit for iPhone/Mac

Look For Cool Bing iPhone Apps

Microsoft announced that the Bing iPhone and Mac software developer kit (SDK) is available for download at Bing's CodePlex. It is open source under the Microsoft Public License (MS-PL).

Bing The SDK is a Cocoa Framework, which means Mac and iPhone developers can easily integrate Bing search results into their applications. Microsoft says it was designed to "remove the headache" of manually having to parse XML or JSON in order to communicate with the Bing API.

Microsoft says the SDK provides:

- The ability to easily query Bing from within your Cocoa or Cocoa Touch application.

- Perform both synchronous and asynchronous queries.

- Search Bing for Web, Image, Video, News, and Phonebook results.

"We hope that you'll be able to make some great Cocoa/iPhone apps that harness the power of Bing!" said a joint blog post from Bing API Program Manager Intern Tom Rudick and Bing API Lead Program Manager Alessandro Catorcini.

The SDK can be found here, along with links to all of the appropriate documentation. A sample app (image search for the iPhone) is there for download as well.

Yeah! Finally we can

Yeah! Finally we can download the Bing iPhone and Mac software developer kit. Lot more thanks for Microsoft and Bing's CodePlex

Move on Bing

Good move Bing you need to apply a lot more effort to create the trust able image as a Search Engine. MS really need to do something big and different which can end the monopoly of Google over internet search market.
