Sentimental types can argue all they want, but the only thing reliably better than a bribe is a bigger bribe, and Bing's attempting to capitalize on this fact. "Double saving days" have begun, which means that Bing users can get twice the amount of money back as usual.
From now until the end of the month (although Microsoft's reserved the right to end the promotion early), Bing's cashback program will be in high gear. Total cashback rewards of up to 50 percent are available, and most of the stores that were already onboard are participating.

There's not much more to the program, either - no obstacles or catches.
Since Bing's been offering cash back for a while - and before it, Live Search did the same - it's reasonable to assume that Microsoft really is seeing some benefit (as opposed to abuse) here. Since the economy seems to be improving, people may be extra eager to spend money and take advantage of the new promotion, too.
It'll be interesting to see what Bing's market share looks like at the end of August. In the meantime, you can peruse a list of cashback stores and their rates here.
