You've probably heard that there is a Facebook movie in the works, but now it appears that there is a one on the way for Twitter as well. However, where the Facebook film will be a mainstream hollywood-type movie with actors, the Twitter movie will be a documentary, and will be available for free to watch online under a creative commons license.

According to a social media release, Siok Siok Tan of Singapore has begun working on the documentary, and is calling upon Twitter users to contribute story ideas, rich media, and videos.

"I want to make a film that peels away the hype and explores how lives connect and intersect, and then are affected and changed as result of encounters on Twitter," says Tan.

The release says that Siok Siok is a 12-time Asian TV Award winner, Taiwan Golden Bell recipient, former executive director for Discovery TV and an adjunct instructor at the famed Beijing Film Academy. She directed a film called Boomtown Beijing, which documents the lives of "ordinary Chinese" in the year leading up to the Beijing Olympics.

The Twitter documentary appears to be in the very early stages of development, so it's hard to say just what all will be documented, but Twitter enthusiasts will be eager to catch a glimpse of, and possibly contribute to the end product. Tan can be found on Twitter at @sioksiok.
