Pandora Back Atop Apple's App Store

Surpasses Sirius XM's Internet Radio App

Pandora's music discovery app has returned to its rightful place atop the Apple App Store. Sirius XM Radio gave them a pretty good run in the music category, edging out Pandora for several weeks. Alas, it wasn't meant to be though.

Which do you prefer: Sirius XM or Pandora? Tell us.

Pandora on iPhoneWhat is the huge draw for Pandora versus Sirius XM for iPhone and iPod Touch radio fans? Unlike Sirius, Pandora is free for all (except a select few users).

Apple users tend to gravitate toward free content. Who can blame them... after paying for unlimited data, who wants to pay another subscription fee?

Sirius XM did give Pandora a "run for the money" with more than a million downloads in a short few weeks. It should be noted that the company hasn't released any official numbers of new service agreements, which will ultimately tell if the Sirius XM app is a success.

With Pandora's rapidly growing customer base (around 18 million), when do you expect the company to re-tool their monetization efforts? Do you think they'll try charging a minimal fee for the service? Tell us what you think.

21 dollars a month and they

21 dollars a month and they want another 3!? No stern!? Pandora is free, why do you need Sirius?

What i like about Pandora is

What i like about Pandora is the ability to customize exactly what I want to listen to, It's like being your own DJ. Unlike Pandora, with traditional radio you are forced to listen to whatever the DJ is spinning at the time; this is Sirius/XM's downfall in the new marketplace.

I what choices, and Pandora gives me exactly want i want to listen to; i don't have to wait around for a DJ to play a couple songs i really like. All i have to do is type in the band i like and i will hear that band and additionally bands that sound similar and that i might like.

My tastes in music vary drastically; I have less than 20 stations that play exactly what i'm looking for like: Aphex Twin, Reggae, SKA, Cannibal Corpse, Electro, Beastie Boys, Wu Tang Clan, Jazz & Bebop, etc..

If you have a band in mind just type it in the Pandora search and a station will be created. Every radio station service provider should take special notice! The grounds are shifting.
