Amazon Launches New Wireless Store

Don't Plan on Buying Your iPhone There

Amazon has launched a new site catering specifically to cell phones and their service plans. The online store located at wireless.amazon.com lets users shop for phones by model, service, color, etc.

You may be able to shop by carrier at AmazonWireless, but that only includes AT&T and Verizon. On top of that, they don't even carry the iPhone, which is available through AT&T. Here is a look at the site's bestselling phones:

Amazon Best Selling Phones

"We've taken our eight years’ experience selling cell phones to create a new site that makes a potentially confusing transaction much easier for customers," said Paul Ryder, vice president of Consumer Electronics for Amazon.com.

"The step-by-step purchase process on AmazonWireless makes it easy for customers who already have a plan to upgrade their phones. If you want to establish new cell phone service, we've made it simple to find the right phone, service plan and options for your needs. We’ve also eliminated the technical jargon and frustrating rebate paperwork that customers often face when buying a phone," added Ryder.

AmazonWireless is in beta, so there's no telling what will be added to the store in the future. Perhaps a wider range of mobile devices will be offered.
