Good Mobile Marketing Isn't an Advertisement

Interview with MMA President

WebProNews recently conducted an interview with Mike Wehrs, President and CEO of the Mobile Marketing Association. This is an organization that "provides an industry forum to meet, discuss, plan and work cooperatively to resolve key industry issues." Wehrs talks with Abby Johnson the growth in mobile marketing, and its benefits. Do you utilize mobile marketing? Tell us a little bit about your strategies.

People have their mobile devices with them 18 hours a day, as Wehrs says. "Why wouldn't you want to be able to deliver relevant information to them?" he asks. "Because if you do it well, it doesn't become an advertisement. It becomes information that they were looking for anyway."

Businesses have been hesitant to get into mobile marketing, but brands are now starting to make big investments in the channel. Some other things Wehrs touches upon include:

- Standout Verticals in mobile marketing

- Text messaging

- Privacy issues

- where to find info
