Yahoo Adds eBay Application To Homepage Test

Yahoo has added a new eBay application to its homepage it has been experimenting with since September in an effort to open up to third parties.

The eBay application can be found in the "My Applications" dashboard area on Yahoo's homepage.

The Yodel Anecdotal Blog provides details. "It will provide an 'eBay Anywhere' experience, letting people quickly monitor their eBay buying and selling activities, including checking recent bids or getting reminders about auctions that are about to close. They can also as search for and find new eBay items right from within Yahoo.com."

Yahoo has video of the new eBay application along with more information about its new homepage. The eBay application preview begins at 1:19.

Brilliant marketing strategy that make's one say "It's About Time!" While this is sure to help Yahoo up it's Q with the ebay shoppers & re-sellers, it makes this reader say, "What took so long?" Is it simply a case of an idea being so obvious that it's overlooked?
