Google and Others Provide Halloween Fun

Creepy Books and Vids Galore

For those of you sitting around this evening either avoiding trick-or-treaters, or just simply looking for some ghostly entertainment to celebrate All Hallow's Eve, Google has some special content set aside for you.

Not only are they featuring some Halloween Books on the front page of Google Book Search:

They have also compiled a selection of frightful stories at google.com/scarystories. Titles range from classics like Dracula, Frankenstein, and The Legend of Sleepy Hollow to some slightly more obscure titles like The Damned Thing and The Four-Fifteen Express.

Of course reading isn't the only way to spend a Friday night (who would've thought?). If you're not going to any big costume parties or taking your kids trick-or-treating, you might also be in the mood for some horror movies. You could watch John Carpenter's classic The Thing at Hulu:

or Clive Barker's The Midnight Meat Train at FearNet:

Warning: Neither of these films are for the squeamish and are both Rated R.

If you don't have time for a feature length movie, you could head on over to MTV's brand new music video site MTVMUsic.com and watch the almighty Thriller:

There's no escaping the jaws of the alien this time.

Or this rather chilling episode of Alf where he tries to watch Psycho but has to defend himself against a home invasion:

The Internet is full of possibilities for Halloween fun. More suggestions welcome.

Halloween Viral Promotions...

In terms of good other campaigns, Sony Eriksson has developed an excellent Halloween viral campaign to promote their new phone. It's at http://www.w595-thedarkside.com and enables people to 'star' in their own spooky video.
