Google still a top pickNew numbers from William Blair & Company indicate that the online ad industry is holding up reasonably well despite the recession. Survey respondents expect growth of roughly 16.1 percent to take place during the next year.
William Blair contacted 150 members of the Chicago Interactive Marketing Association to complete this fifth in a series of semiannual reports, so the estimate seems to be based on sound opinions, and 16.1 percent is a strong number. The negative side of the figure is that it's below "a consistent level of about 19% in the first four surveys."

Also, according to a formal statement from Troy Mastin, a William Blair equity research analyst, "[O]nline media prices have risen just 3.2% over the past six months versus an average of 7.2% in past surveys."
These trends seem to spell bad news for Yahoo, which is losing the support of William Blair's respondents. Google, in contrast, is gathering a fan base; 61 percent of the survey's participants picked it as an Internet media leader.
In any event, a hat tip goes to Nicholas Carlson. William Blair should check back with more statistics in another six months.

Online Advertising
Online advertising will never go away but social marketing will most certainly take a bite out of it.
Social marketing is so new it's a little tricky to figure out, but I've found a site run by Rodger Baily that is great. He's in the free phase right now so online advertisers can soak up some free knowledge and hopfully use it to market your business.
Rodger has a unique way of teaching with a "learn as you do" method that is very effective. If you follow this url you can learn more and even sign up:
Average Person Can Now Make Money Advertising
I just read your article regarding advertising on the web. I was at Miami Rally on Saturday and saw first hand a company ,"who will be the largest advertiser on the web ,"can do. It is owned by a man ,Andy Bowdin who had a vision regarding this very article. I am getting rebates on advertsing and now have money in my pocket instead of the corparate companies.
Advertising is here to stay & growing daily on the web and with ASD.I'm included.
