Hulu To Show McCain-Obama Debates Live

There are all sorts of things that might keep folks from watching the presidential debates on TV: technical problems, appointments elsewhere, or spouses with a low tolerance for politicians.  Fortunately for them, Hulu plans to stream the last two debates live.

Google Tries to Keep Drunk People From Messing Up Their Lives

Google is working on a new Gmail feature in Google Labs that allows the user to better protect themselves from sending emails that they may later regret sending. The feature is called "Mail Goggles", and seems to be aimed at people who have too much to drink on the weekends and send out drunken emails that when they wake up the next day and wish they hadn't sent. Online Ad Spend In The UK Up 21%

Internet advertising expenditures in Britain grew to $2.95 billion (1.68 billion pounds) in the first half of 2008, a 21 percent increase year-on-year, according to the Internet Advertising Bureau (IAB).Marketers showed overwhelming confidence in online advertising at a time when all major advertising mediums experienced declines in expenditure.  The total advertising market was down 0.7 percent year-on-year, during the first six months of 2008. Without the Internet's growth the advertising market would have experienced a 4.6 percent decline.

AOL Cleans House

Social media will be adopted by more than 60 percent of Fortune 1,000 companies with a Web site by 2010, according to research firm Gartner."A key benefit of establishing a community is the amount of information an organization can gain about its customer base, which can be used for short-and long-term customer relationships," said Adam Sarner, principal research analyst at Gartner.
