CBS Launches Ad Network For College Sports

Reach includes 215 colleges

CBS has launched CBS College Sports Media, a vertical advertising network that will serve ads for CBSSports.com, NCAA.com and around 215 official college athletics sites.

The ad network will focus on the male demographic between the ages of 18-49. CBS said the new ad network would have reached 10 million unique visitors in March, during the popular March Madness basketball tournament.

The network will offer both display and video advertising on multiple platforms and include NCAA.com and CBSSports.com. CBS Interactive sports properties will no longer sell through remnant networks like AOL's Platform A.

"CBS College Sports Media will allow us to streamline the process of selling our digital collegiate properties while offering clients packages to be bundled with television assets from CBS Sports and CBS College Sports Network, giving advertisers multiple platforms from which to deliver their message," said Jo Ann Ross, President, Network and Interactive Sales, CBS.

"At the same time, this move will allow us to still give media buyers the ability to buy across a network without exposing them to the lower-value brands that can be found in remnant and performance networks. All of this media will be aligned around premium brands and environments."
