Disney had a 22 percent increase year-over-year in average monthly visitors to its online properties. Disney Online traffic combined with its family targeted sites reached 29.6 million unique visitors in March 2008.
Traffic growth was driven by a number of offerings including virtual worlds Club Penguin and Pirates of the Caribbean Online, and the launch of the new animated series "Phineas and Ferb."
On a global level Disney.com has had record-breaking traffic in both the United Kingdom and Japan after the localized launches of the new Disney.com. Its mobile Web site has also seen a rise in traffic, increasing 128 percent since it launched in late 2007.
"Our audience is responding in record levels," stated Paul Yanover, executive vice president of the Walt Disney Internet Group and head of Disney Online. "Our focus continues to be delivering an array of online entertainment - through games, video and communities."
