Major League Baseball has partnered with BroadWebAsia to launch a new Web site in China that will allow fans to see highlights, scores, photographs and some games on the site.
The new site www.major.tv/china was announced today. Under the agreement BroadWebAsia and MLB Advanced Media will use a simplified Chinese language and will feature online chats, forums and sections that will explain the rules of baseball and sell M.L.B. merchandise.
"The launch of our MLB-focused website in China will make the game more accessible, not only to multi-national and Chinese advertisers, but also to the increasing number of Chinese baseball fans at the grassroots level," said Peter Schloss, Chief Executive Officer of BroadWebAsia.
The BroadWebAsia Network reaches more than 70 million unique monthly visitors, generating over 500 monthly page views. The network was started by Brad Greenspan a founder of MySpace.
