Intel Apparently A Google Chrome OS Partner, Too

Yesterday, we reported that nine companies had partnered with Google to help develop Google Chrome OS.  This article may be a little short on names by comparison, but it seems important to note that Intel, the chipmaker with a market cap of about $90 billion, is also on the team. 

Amazon Launches New Wireless Store

Amazon has launched a new site catering specifically to cell phones and their service plans. The online store located at wireless.amazon.com lets users shop for phones by model, service, color, etc.  You may be able to shop by carrier at AmazonWireless, but that only includes AT&T and Verizon. On top of that, they don't even carry the iPhone, which is available through AT&T. Here is a look at the site's bestselling phones:

Google Captures Nearly Three-Quarters Of Searches

Microsoft's Bing accounted for 5.25 percent of all U.S. searches for the month of June, according to the latest data from Hitwise. Google continued to hold on to its dominant position growing 7 percent year-over- year capturing 74.04 percent of the U.S. search market for the month. Yahoo landed in the second position with 16.19 percent of the search market, but saw its growth drop 17 percent year-over-year, while Ask received 3.15 percent of searches with its growth slipping 22 percent year-over-year.

Google Product Search For Mobile Goes To More Devices

People who like to shop from the comfort (or at least convenience) of their cell phones are in luck; Google Product Search for mobile now supports all devices with mobile connections in four different countries.  Plus, people with more advanced phones are getting access to Google Suggest.

New York Attorney General Andrew Cuomo announced today that his office intends to sue social networking site Tagged for deceptive email marking practices and invasion of privacy.

Search Bing From Hotmail Inbox to Insert Content

Microsoft announced today that Bing has been added to Windows Live Hotmail's quick add feature, which itself was announced back in February. This means Hotmail users can easily search Bing for items to insert into email messages. Users can each for maps, restaurants, movie times, images, videos and business listings from their inboxes. They can also preview and insert videos and images from the web.

MySpace, Bebo Not For Sale

It looks like two significant social networks aren't going to change hands anytime soon.  Executives representing News Corp and AOL have, with different degrees of forcefulness, expressed their intentions to retain possession of MySpace and Bebo, respectively.
