Google Visualization API Steps Into View

Pretty, data-related graphics galore

A desire to visualize data usually leaves people picking between bar graphs and pie charts, with only a handful of color-related options either way.  The new Google Visualization API aims to open things up considerably.

Motion charts, pyramids, heat maps, and ten other unusual choices are on display in the Google Visualization API Gadget Gallery.  Google Spreadsheets is the sole data source allowed just now, but this is expected to change in time.  As a greater selection arrives, the Gadget Gallery should grow even bigger.

The Gallery should also expand as more developers latch on.  At least four different corporate blogs are trying to get the word out and ask for feedback.  Zach Lloyd and Mike Harm even quoted Billy Idol ("She want more.  More more more more more.") on the Official Google Docs Blog.

Floating data bubbles, "Rebel Yell" references . . . color us impressed.  Also, while some technical questions and confusion are floating around out there, we have yet to stumble across a single outright complaint.

Google seems to be getting quite good at making friends with developers.

creating Funnel Widget using Google Viz API

Hello Doug Caverly,

Thank You for the above information on Motioncharts.

Can you suggest me how can we create a Funnel Widget, pyramid widget using Visualization API.I have tried creating MotionCharts as was mentioned in the Visualization Gallery (not in Gadgets Gallery) and its working fine.Similarly their is no such thing for Funnel Widget,Pyramid Widget.,If you have come across this ,can you show the sample code of doing Funnel Widget,Pyramid Widget without using spread sheet .

I am populating the data from my DB for the previous charts i have done, using java technology. It would be helpful by showcasing the sample code on creating the above widgets.

looking for your valuable suggestion,

Regards,

Nithin
