The top three executives at Google agreed in 2004 that they would work together for 20 years just before the company went public in August 2004.

In an interview with Fortune magazine founders Larry Page, Sergey Brin and company chief executive Eric Schmidt explain when they made the pact. Schmidt recalled the exact time of the agreement saying, 'Two years, seven months, and four days ago. But who's counting?"
"Actually, we agreed the month before we went public that we would work together for 20 years. I will be 69, and according to Google I'm going to live to 84, so I should be fine." A Google spokesman said he was not aware of specific projects the three had planned when the pledge was made the Wall Street Journal reported.
Google is bidding on the sought after Federal Communications Commission's ongoing auction of the 700 MHz spectrum. The spectrum auction, which began Jan.24, will free up airwave for improved wireless Internet service for consumers.
