Over half (55%) of the 2,000 marketers surveyed by Datran Media reported that they expect the ROI from email to be higher than other marketing channels like search or display advertising.
The vast majority of them (82%) plan to increase their use of email marketing.
Datran says the results are consistent with a Direct Marketing Association report finding that ROI from email more than doubles ROI from other channels.
In 2008, average email ROI is expected to be $45.65 for every dollar spent on advertising. Over two-thirds (67%) of respondents said email has helped boost sales.
Search came in second to email among marketers as a favored channel, and was cited as a nice complement to an email campaign.
