"It's showing the kids they can truly make a difference," Lane Merrifield, co-founder of Club Penguin told the AP. The company, which is based in British Columbia, was purchased by Disney last summer for $350 million.

Club Penguin is on track to earn another $350 million from Disney if specific profit goals are met. The company donated $30 million after the Disney purchase and will donate another $1 million with the help of its members.

The company will divide the $1 million among three charities, the World Wildlife Fund, the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation and Free The Children.
