Wal-Mart Kicks Off "Cyber Week"

Compared to most retailers, Wal-Mart is really, really big.  So it only makes sense that the company is doing away with Cyber Monday, and is instead focusing on an entire “Cyber Week.”

The slightly sneaky part of this arrangement is the fact that Wal-Mart will add deals over the next several days; the company would apparently prefer it if shoppers didn’t get everything done on Monday or Tuesday and then never return.  Still, it’s hard to complain about (lots of) opportunities to save money.

 Wal-Mart Kicks Off
“The site will offer special prices on 150 items--three times more than a year ago,” reports Reuters.  About 65 of those should be available today, and you can find most of them through Chris Pirillo’s site.

Impressive, eh?  Also, this isn’t the only time Wal-Mart’s been in eBusiness news recently; in addition to its Black Friday-related traffic, an inexpensive Linux PC sold by the retailer has earned a lot of attention.  Our own David Utter even asked, “Could Wal-Mart be the vehicle that drives the computing public away from Windows, $200 at a time?”

Unfortunately, that PC is not (yet) among the Cyber Week specials.
