Google Solidifies French Monopoly

For the second straight month Google has controlled 90.23 percent of the French search engine market, with only MSN and Ask gaining any ground at all. As for the rest, it's decline city.

News of Google's continued crushing domination of the French market comes from French metrics firm XitiMonitor.

Yahoo fell by 0.7 percent in October; Orange by 5.4 percent; Free by 17.5 percent; and AOL by 8.2 percent.

Ask and MSN alone made any headway. MSN enjoyed a 14.3 percent increase to 2.63 percent of the market. Ask.com jumped by 16.3 percent to claim a paltry 0.11 percent of the French market.
