Inc. magazine has launched a social network focused on CEOs of private companies that are on the new Inc. 5000 list. The site is in beta and if your company is not on the list you can request to be asked.
Membership features include networking with other companies, create a public profile of your business, send out press releases for free over the IncBizNet wire feed distributed across the country, and blog about your company.
The site will also feature facilitated discussions boards were groups allow facilitators to run group discussion boards on the topic of their choice. Other features include one-to one communication where members can identify companies with similar interest and a multimedia feature where members can upload marketing materials including PDFs, video, photography or audio.
Social networking sites for CEOs of private companies is an idea yet to be tested. IncBizNet does have a chance to succeed because businesses have a true need to network, not socialize. The question is will CEOs take the time to do this online?
