Google, China.com Broaden Partnership

Internet services provider China.com said today Google will provide search engine technologies to more of the companies Web sites that will improve search for users in China.

"Google's innovations in web search and advertising have made its web site a top Internet destination and its brand one of the most recognized in the world," said Xiaowei Chen, Ph.D., president of China.com Inc.

"By expanding our partnership with Google, we can further improve user satisfaction and encourage more robust growth for China.com. In turn, the impressive brand equity of China.com will also help Google to expand its user base in China."

Under the expanded partnership, Google will power search services on China.com's Chinese portal and China Search site (zhonghua sousuo). Since forming a partnership with Google in July 2006, Google has been providing Web search and AdSense for Search services for China.com's traditional Chinese and English sites, and providing AdSense services.

"Google is devoted to bringing the best search experience to Chinese users by working with leading local partners, such as China.com, and providing advanced technology," said Kai-Fu Lee, Ph.D., vice president of Google and president of Google Greater China.

"Google is committed to putting the needs of our users first, and actively look for more opportunities to expand our services in China."
