Yahoo Partners With Vertical Search Company

GenieKnows.com, a Halifax- based search company part of IT Interactive services has entered into a search distribution deal with Yahoo that will allow the company to have access to Australian and Canadian sponsored search listings.

Yahoo advertiser listings will appear alongside the natural search listing created by GenieKnows vertical search engine. The deal was made official on May 1st 2007 and will allow Yahoo sponsored search listings to be visible on all GenieKnows vertical search engines and network partners.

"The relationship with Yahoo! signals a new era for GenieKnows," said Barbara Manning, president and chief executive officer, GenieKnows.com.

"This deal will allow us to enhance the GenieKnows.com vertical search channels with relevant advertising to Canadians and Australians using Yahoo!, while proving our commitment in providing the best online experience for our users."

Sam Stern, Head of Business Development Partner Solutions, Australia, Yahoo! Search Marketing, said: "The Yahoo! Search Marketing and GenieKnows deal not only expands our distribution network but, more importantly, provides our advertisers with consumers who are genuinely searching for what they sell."

GenieKnows launched its games vertical version 1.0 in June, with a health vertical and Local search function still in beta but is expected to launch in 1.0 in the coming months.
