The BBC Global News said today that it would use thePlatform's media management and publishing system to distribute short-form video content on YouTube.
"Our aim is to bring BBC World News to audiences wherever they are and YouTube is one of the ways we do that," said Michele Grant, senior vice president of BBC Global News Development. "thePlatform gives us a publishing system for delivering our content while maintaining our required business controls."
The BBC Global News said they would make available up to 30 news clips per day with news and analysis from around the globe. A channel has been created on YouTube called "BBC World News" were the clips can be viewed.
"We're excited to support BBC Global News as they expand their distribution of broadband video to YouTube and other outlets," said Marty Roberts, vice president of marketing for thePlatform.
