AdWords clients can see how their ads look on a mobile device, and even observe how they would appear to viewers on different carriers in other countries.
A new service from Google provides an ad preview for mobile devices. This testing page allows advertisers to see how their message looks on multiple platforms.
Brad Geddes at eWhisper.net complimented the design for its segmentation controls. These permit the marketer to view a mobile ad by country & carrier, by language, and by markup code. The tool supports carriers in 13 countries.
In January, Google began laying the groundwork for this service. They reported on the AdWords API Blog that API Version 8 would enable "the creation and management of new ad formats such as Local Business Ads and Mobile Ads."
Search Engine Roundtable said the tool will let people view their ad without incurring a click or hurting the CTR factor.
Google has been working on building their mobile ad products for over a year. April 2006 saw them complete testing of mobile ads in Japan, and in September Google expanded those ads to the US market.
