User-Generated Video will continue to account for almost half of all online video between 2008 and 2013, but will account for just 4 percent of ad-related online video during the period according to digital analytics firm TDG.User-Generated video accounts for 42 percent of online video while professional online video represents 58 percent of streams and 96 percent of ad-related revenue, which is unlikely to change over the next five years.

PodTech.net had a lot of buzz around it primarily because blogger Robert Scoble left the sturdy walls of Microsoft to be a part of it. There were others with nice pedigrees, too, and $7.5 million in VC funding spelled sure success. It must not have spelled it in English, though. This week, PodTech sold to ViewPartner, a company that doesn't even seem to have a website, for under $500,000, or enough to purchase a one-bedroom condo in San Francisco.

Wikipedia is defined by its community contribution model, and so far, the approach has worked quite well. The German version of Wikipedia has been experimenting with an edit approval system, though, and it seems the system may be ready to spread.Under the stricter rules, anyone and everyone can still edit articles. The main difference is that new changes are kept out of public sight until a designated checker can look at and okay them.
