Web 2.0: Traditional Media vs. Blogosphere News

Since receiving news from online sources is becoming increasingly popular, traditional media forms may have a challenge on their hands.

Viewers have an apparent fondness to the rise of Web 2.0. In an interview with WebProNews at the Web 2.0 Expo, Techmeme Founder Gabe Rivera, spoke with us about these growing trends.

Blogs cover the same news that traditional media forms cover, but they offer more opportunities for the viewers. A blog allows a viewer to post a comment. Many times a viewer feels passionately about a topic, and a blog gives them an outlet to let their voice be heard. This practice could not be done with a newspaper or television.

Reporters attempt to make a connection with the viewing audience. Rivera suggests that they perform interaction with blogs. As a result, both the viewers and the media would be getting what they want. Traditional media forms should utilize technology for their advantage.

For all the developments concerning the blogosphere and traditional media plus, what to expect in the future for Techmeme.com, tune in to our exclusive interview with Gabe Rivera.
