Google has updated their Google Talk Gadget with some new features. In Google Talk, blog post software engineer Scott Ludwig details the latest updates.
In order to make Google Talk more accessible they have added a pop- out feature for the Google Talk Gadget that will appear in a separate window. If you are on your Google Personalized Homepage, there is a link inside the gadget that lets users pop it out.
While Google announced earlier that Web site owners and bloggers could add Google Talk to their own Web page with the new pop- out feature, visitors to your Web site can add Google Talk in a separate window.
If you are a Firefox user, you can run the gadget in your Firefox sidebar, which will remain open while you navigate from page to page in the main frame.
Google Talk can also be bookmarked as a sidebar in Firefox.
Additionally, Google has added new media- viewing features. Users can now view Flickr photo slideshows by pasting URLs from Flickr into chats.
Google plans for more updates to the gadget, which update automatically when it is loaded.
