You remember all the fun we had watching VH1's "Pop-up Videos?" A start-up out of Israel has developed an interactive Web-based platform that lets users create their own pop-up videos by inserting comic-style speech and thought bubbles.
Once word gets out about BubblePly.com, this little creative outlet could become the next big time-waster. It's your own textual Mystery Science Theater 3000 that lets you commentate on a video and share the fun with friends.
Plus, the simplicity and speed of the platform can only help.
The concept is very simple. Users supply a link to a YouTube, Google Video, or any other user-generated and shared content site. BubblyPly will insert it into their platform and users can add bubbles at will.
Once the user is finished creating their comedic masterpiece, they're given a link that can be emailed to friends, or a script is provided that can be placed on a website or blog.
Simple and ingenious? I think so.
Here's a short video from YouTube, entitled "Rebecca: The Human Can Opener," that took me about five minutes to modify with what the characters in the video are really thinking:
Users can choose between thought and speech bubbles, are able to choose colors and graphics, and can resize or reposition the bubbles.
BubblePly is creative gold for those of us that like to have silly fun. And we all do.
