ClickTracks Gets Big Sales, Gartner Coverage

The web analytics company announced a record sales quarter and the addition of the company to coverage by Gartner in its MarketScope for Web Analytics.

ClickTracks Analytics announced an 83 percent revenue growth over the same quarter in 2005, and a 22 percent increase over Q4 2005. The company reported 97 percent revenue growth in 2005; financial numbers were not disclosed for the privately held Santa Cruz, CA, company.

The company also gained a place in Gartner's coverage of the web analytics industry, ClickTracks said:

(T)he company announced it has been included in the Gartner evaluation of the web analytics market (Gartner MarketScope for Web Analytics 2Q06) and received a "positive" rating by analyst Bill Gassman.

According to the Gartner report, "In 2006, Internet popularity is stronger than ever, and the second wave of growth for the Web analytics market is well under way. Leaders experienced more than a 50 percent revenue growth rate in 2005, which is greater than the rate of many other software markets. In addition, a small number of leaders have emerged from the crowded market, and organizations are taking a new look at Web analytics requirements as they revisit their Web site strategies."
ClickTracks founder and CEO John Marshall cited a couple of reasons for their strong sales growth, with increases in new hosted business and licenses of ClickTracks' JavaScript data collection (JDC) product; continued growth in the small-to-medium business market, and new features in ClickTracks' latest release, Version 6.

The company announced in February its Version 6.1 release would contain click-fraud reporting technology. There should be general availability of the newest version this month.
