The Return Of Google GLAT

Pulitzer Prize winning reporter David A. Vise's book, "The Google Story," brings back an old Google favorite, the Google Labs Aptitude Test.

Way back in September 2004, Google posted the GLAT. Aspiring Googlers who wanted to get a foot in the Googleplex door had to take a standardized test.

" But what if there were a standardized test that led, like, immediately to the really cool job? What if, for instance, there was a Google Labs Aptitude Test?"
Google provided copies of the test online, along with an invitation to send completed ones along by postal mail to Mountain View. Vise and David Malseed reproduced the test in their book, along with the answers.

That probably means Google has a newer test available; being able to visit the questions and answers online would tend to invalidate the effectiveness of the older test.

It's a fun read for the geek-inclined, and if you never knew part of Google's over-arching philosophy included "You should never be more than 50 feet from food," you'll be glad you took the test.
