Texan Lynda LeCompte has created an avian flu outbreak add-on for Google Earth mapping out confirmed cases of the bird virus worldwide, contributing to the rash of Google Earth/Maps mash-ups. Get it? Rashoutbreak
The download is available at the Google Earth Community along with a regular update of where various cases have been spotted. Icons denote confirmed and unconfirmed cases and whether they are human, bird, or other animal.
The mash-up was an instant success in the forum, where Lynda takes reports an continually updates new outbreaks as they occur.
