Microsoft Excels At Blogging

Microsoft continues to talk about the upcoming release of their Office 12 office suite, loaded with new features for the future. Microsoft started talking about Office 12 and its programs like Excel through blogs. So a little over a week ago, Microsoft debuted their Excel blog.

The Excel blog is a detailed discussion by designers on what's going to be included in the new Microsoft Excel. This is a good PR move for Microsoft because in all honesty, the news for Microsoft hasn't been all that great lately.

Microsoft recently suffered a blow to the Office product by the state of Massachusetts switching to an open source product. Microsoft has also been losing a lot of talent to the upstart Google. Finally, Sun Microsystems and Google announced today they've got some type of agreement going and will go into further details during a webcast tomorrow. They could potentially do some real damage to Microsoft.

Microsoft has got a lot of work to do. While their Office product is a good product, many would suggest that a product, even if slightly inferior, that's free may be better. Keeping enthusiasm about an office suite program will be a difficult road. Microsoft is hoping these blogs will give them a little traction.
