The separate AdWords login will be replaced, as Google will require the creation of a Google account.
If there are Flickr users out there who also participate in AdWords, they're about to get a second dose of "setup your corporate login" mania. Flickr users have complained about needing to create a Yahoo account, which requires parting with some personal information.
For AdWords users, it may not be as much of a big deal. Since they've already put personal and financial information into Google's AdWords for billing purposes, setting up a Google account won't require any more info than what's already been made available to the Googleplex.
Search Engine Roundtable posted a screen capture of the advisory Google has placed next to the AdWords login. "We're upgrading our AdWords login system to Google Accounts," the advisory begins.
The post also notes how Google has made the same requirement of its Orkut networking site users. On forums like WebmasterWorld and Search Engine Watch, reaction has been muted, with fewer than ten posts combined on the topic at press time.
