Lycos, Yahoo Provide Katrina Missing Person Search

Metasearch offerings from Yahoo and Lycos sift through a number of missing person sites that arose after Hurricane Katrina.

A pair of metasearch sites have been setup by search providers Lycos and Yahoo. Each takes queries on persons missing since Katrina hit New Orleans and the Gulf Coast. Search Engine Watch posted an entry describing the two sites.

Lycos has a Search Katrina Missing Persons Site that checks through a growing number of 30+ missing person sites. Yahoo's Katrina: Search For Missing People sifts through a number of missing person boards.

The Lycos metasearch allows users to suggest more sites containing missing persons information. Donations for relief efforts are still being accepted by the Red Cross and other organizations.
