Google Talk Goes Mobile

Post to Twitter Post to Facebook

A Boston company has announced a mobile IM solution for Google Talk, Google's recently released IM and voice chat client.

Google Talk gets legs, now that MessageVine, a Boston-area mobile solutions firm, has announced its Mobile IM client for Google Talk. The mobile client offers the same features and user experience as the PC client, the company notes in a press release. Their client also includes Gmail integration.

MessageVine has had its Mobile IM solution available for connecting to other IM networks: MSN, AIM, Yahoo, and ICQ. The company notes how Google Talk will be available on a variety of mobile platforms, including the popular BlackBerry, Symbian, Windows Mobile, and others.

"By integrating the Google Talk service into MessageVine's range of products we allow Google Talk users to chat on-the-go and ensure our customers and partners are at the forefront of the instant messaging and presence market," said Tomer Hertz, CEO of MessageVine, in the release.

Gary Price at Search Engine Watch notes that MessageVine licenses its technology to wireless providers and companies, not individuals. "So, at least for now, it's not available for an individual to download and license," he wrote.
